Casp[aris] Barthi[i] Adversarior[um] commentariorum libri CLXI ad CLXXX : manuscript, [16--]

Autograph manuscript of the continuation of his Adversariorum commentariorum libri LX (first printed in 1624), a compendium of miscellaneous learning concerning classical, medieval and modern authors. Includes two signed letters in French by the bookseller T[heodor] O[swald] Weigel, dated at Leipzig, 23 Mar. 1857 and 12 May 1857, to [Joachim Gomez de la Cortina] Marqués de Morante at Madrid concerning the availability of this manuscript for purchase. Weigel identifies this manuscript as the German philologue's long-lost work, rediscovered in 1817 by F. A. W. Spohn who planned but never completed an edition. The Spanish bibliophile's library was later dispersed at Paris in the 1870s.
